Instruction with Leona Hobbs

 
 

Instructor-LED

Training designed and delivered by Leona Hobbs is instructor-led. Formally, Leona was an instructor at Durham College in the public relations program. Leona developed the course curriculum and delivered instruction to over forty students. She has guest lectured at University of Toronto, Seneca College, George Brown College and Loyalist College.

Corporate training has been a mainstay of Leona’s activities, frequently teaching communications and marketing teams to use new and emerging technologies both internally and externally. Leona has delivered training for Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Ford Motor Company, Insurance Institute of Canada, Yahoo and Magnet (Ryerson).

APPLIED TRAINING

While there is a role for traditional training delivery, Leona prefers to deliver her training in the context of the learners’ day-to-day job.

This type of training is most effective as it is contextualized and made specific to the individual. This allows Leona to address individual learner needs, styles and preferences.

Since the pandemic, Leona has moved her training activities online. Using tools like Zoom, Teams, and Miro to facilitate instructions.

COACHING

Leona has been formally trained in Coactive Coaching methods and has practiced exhaustive mentoring and coaching throughout her career. Working with Leona brings an opportunity for her to help individuals reach their potential through empathetic listening, the mutual definition of goals, and ongoing supports.

Each of Leona’s over thirty direct reports has experienced her coaching style. Many individuals at Leona’s over forty clients have also experienced her unique approach to coaching and mentoring.
